Ending an argument

Even the most healthy relationships run into an occasional argument. In fact, working through a conflict in a healthy way will make a couple stronger and more able to face other challenges.

But what do you do when an argument comes up? How do you stop it before it gets to a dangerous place or becomes violent?

Check out this youtube video with some helpful tips. What do you think is the best way to diffuse an argument?

“There’s no excuse for dating abuse”

Start Strong Atlanta Youth Leaders meet regularly and discuss how to best tell our community about dating abuse. But a large part of their job is to perform a play at the area middle schools, reinforcing the curriculum that 7th graders are being taught in health class about healthy relationships.

The play is called, “There’s no excuse for dating abuse” and all of the teens have roles they rotate. Here are some pictures from the latest performances!

7th graders at Sutton Middle learn about healthy relationships

Right choices for healthy relationships The consequences of abuse Stop dating abuse! No place for hate Stop dating abuse! Red Flags

These posters were designed and drawn by 7th graders at Sutton Middle School in Atlanta. Their teachers taught them the “Safe Dates” curriculum, and then made posters informing their peers of the warning signs of unhealthy relationships and ways to keep it strong with healthy relationships.

The Start Strong ATL Youth Leaders will be performing the play “There’s No Excuse for Dating Abuse” at the end of this month at Sutton so the 7th graders can ask questions and share their thoughts.
