In this song, Katy Perry describes her relationship with her boyfriend and how he appreciates her for who she is. The way he treats her contributes to them having a very sound and romantic relationship that’s almost a “dream” to her.
Even the most healthy relationships run into an occasional argument. In fact, working through a conflict in a healthy way will make a couple stronger and more able to face other challenges.
But what do you do when an argument comes up? How do you stop it before it gets to a dangerous place or becomes violent?

On Saturday, February 4th the Start Strong ATL youth leaders and their friends froze outside of Atlanta’s Phillips Arena holding signs about Teen Dating Violence, healthy relationships, and how to get help. We had an amazing response from the crowd!

Start Strong Atlanta Youth Leaders meet regularly and discuss how to best tell our community about dating abuse. But a large part of their job is to perform a play at the area middle schools, reinforcing the curriculum that 7th graders are being taught in health class about healthy relationships.
The play is called, “There’s no excuse for dating abuse” and all of the teens have roles they rotate. Here are some pictures from the latest performances!












These posters were designed and drawn by 7th graders at Sutton Middle School in Atlanta. Their teachers taught them the “Safe Dates” curriculum, and then made posters informing their peers of the warning signs of unhealthy relationships and ways to keep it strong with healthy relationships.
The Start Strong ATL Youth Leaders will be performing the play “There’s No Excuse for Dating Abuse” at the end of this month at Sutton so the 7th graders can ask questions and share their thoughts.

Several Start Strong teens set up a table and talked to members of our community about teen dating violence. They walked through the warning signs, how to prevent violence, and the message of Start Strong.
